Amy and Michael Halterman started making headlines in March 2023. It happened after there were reports about the couple separating. As per a police complaint from February, Amy called 911 after her husband had a violent streak and began throwing things around the house. Their kids, Gage and Glenn, were under the same roof. Hence, the 1000 Lb Sisters star also got an emergency protection order against her husband. The couple had to stay 500 feet apart from each other, and Michael didn’t have permission to go to their Kentucky household.
But, as per Intouch, Amy and Michael were captured around each other. 1000 Lb Sisters couldn’t understand why. Apparently, they were outside the courthouse. In April, there was another update about Amy dropping the domestic violence charges against her husband. The court had suggested the couple get a restraining order for each other. But that hasn’t happened yet. But the fact that the couple met up in front of the courthouse suggests that their divorce is very much in the picture.

Despite Michael’s violent streak allegation, Amy and her ex share “joint custody” of their kids. Fans were confused at this reveal again. That’s because the famous husband had nothing to do with the kids in many of the episodes of 1000 Lb Sisters Season 4. So, it was odd how he suddenly wanted to get involved in their lives more. As per their agreement, Amy gets to keep Glenn and Gage from Monday to Friday while her husband looks after them for the weekend. Michael had also put up a wholesome post for his baby boys on Easter when they were united and spending time together.
Shockingly, Amy had also accused Michael of being violent with their kids. She mentioned how he would yank their kids by the arm and hit them too. Therefore, the husband must be under strict supervision while looking after the babies. There have been up updates about the couple’s court case yet. However, fans did spot Amy, Chris Combs, and Amanda Halterman filming something in front of the Kentucky courthouse.
