However, until now, no shows have portrayed polyandry except ‘Brother Husbands’, which came in 2017. TLC decided to bring a brand new show that will feature not one but several families practicing it and finding new husbands.
Early in January, the network dropped its first trailer of Seeking Brother Husband, which created a lot of controversies all over. The trailer revealed that the show would have four polyandrous couples who have different dynamics and are in different phases of their relationship. It starts by explaining that polyandry is a practice of having multiple husbands, but those men cannot have multiple partners. Even a contestant explains that it will break all the taboos of society. Apparently, another one explains when women have multiple partners, society usually thinks of them as a slut and slams them for sleeping around.
Though the show didn’t reveal the names of the contestants yet, the trailer had a few glimpses of their lives. It starts with a woman who explains the meaning of polyandry and is really happy to have two husbands who love her. Another one throws light on society’s double standards and describes how she is dealing with them. The third one adds how she had to get out of her comfort zone. Not only this, but husbands’ jealousy and insecurity were also evident in the trailer. It was clear that some of them were not comfortable watching their wives with other men.
Seeking Brother Husband: TLC Finally Listened To Public Demand
It’s been a while since fans wanted a show where women can have multiple partners. The viewers are tired of watching a man having all the powers and several women. That is why the regular watchers wanted a show where the tables could turn. Now in Seeking Brother Husband, women will have all the powers and several men! As soon as the trailer was out, the users took to the comment section and expressed their excitement. A viewer wrote that watching men getting sensitive when the roles are reversed is always fun.
Another one chimed in and added that while watching Seeking Sister Wives, she always thought that things would be better the other way around. But the audience never expected that TLC would actually deliver it. A majority of women even added that they could not handle one; these ladies are handling several.
