While, John played Victor Kiriakis, the patriarch of Kiriakis family on Days of Our Lines, his namesake, Victor Newman plays the big daddy of the Newman family on Y&R. The heart breaking news of John’s passing over reminded fans to check in on the much loved veteran actor Eric Braeden.
John Aniston passed away on November, 11, 2022 at the age of 89. Incidentally, John and Eric have shared the screen earlier in their careers. They appeared together in Mission Impossible in the 1960s. A decade later, they again shared the screen in the iconic detective series, Kojack, in 1970s. Then moving on to attain cult status as Victor Kiriakis and Victor Newman. Eric Braeden debuted on The Young and The Restless as Victor in 1980. While, John Aniston entered the Days of Our Lives as Victor in 1985.

John’s journey as Victor Kiriakis on the mega popular soap may have ended due to his passing, but, his legacy will forever live on. However, Eric Braeden’s run as the iconic Victor Newman still has all nine lives of the cool cat intact as the actor continue to enjoy good health. In case you were wondering, The Young and The Restless star is 81 years in age. Eric was born on April 3, 1941 in North Germany. In his biography published by Harper Collins, Eric shared that he survived the sinking of MV Wilhelm Gustloff.
It was a German armed military transport ship which was sunk on January 30, 1945. The ship was sunk by a Soviet Submarine in the Baltic Sea, while evacuating German civilian and military refugees. Eric survived a catastrophe that took nearly 9300 lives. Reaffirming the fact that he is a survivor and not one to fall down easy. So all The Young and The Restless fans worrying about their beloved actor can breathe easy, Eric is doing just fine!
This Patriarch is going nowhere any time soon! Eric’s on-screen counter part Victor Newman has his work cut out for him on The Young and The Restless. That is, managing his feuding sons, Nick and Adam, and protecting the Newman Empire Legacy against his rivals. In real life too, Eric’s hands and heart are quite full with his family life.
